DETROIT — Quick update from the Wings’ morning skate, Todd Bertuzzi will not play against the Toronto Maple Leafs, complaining of tightness in his back.
Mattias Ritola will take his spot on a line with Valtteri Filppula and Johan Franzen.
Thomas McCollum will start in goal and backed up by Joey MacDonald.
Jimmy Howard will play Saturday in Toronto and Chris Osgood will play Sunday against Pittsburgh.
