DETROIT >> Wings coach Mike Babcock when asked what the Wings can accomplish when healthy?
“I think the big thing that happens every year, when you’re coaching a team, like Boston, everyone picking is going to win the Presidents’ Trophy, so you’re still going to figure out your game over seven or eight games but you find ways to win in the meantime while you figure out the right way to play. We have to do the same thing but we have to figure out a blueprint so these guys know exactly how to play to be successful and our line is going to be a lot finer.
“So as much as love this great plan coming in we see them play head to head against real teams with real bullets flying , we’re going to find out more about our guys here and we’re going to put them in the best situations to be successful. Just like coming into training camp, I knew who Nick Jensen was but I never really heard of him. Now I know who he is. That’s the same thing that happens here today. You put them on the ice, you’re going to watch them play. Whoever plays the best they get to play more. It doesn’t matter what their name is, so that’s what we’re going to figure out over time.”
