DETROIT — Defenseman Danny DeKeyser won’t be at practice Friday listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury.
The injury could be a groin which means day-to-day could mean a couple of weeks.
The Wings have recalled defenseman Alexey Marchenko from Grand Rapids to take his place on the blue line.
He’s expected to make his NHL debut Saturday in Dallas.
He will be the fifth rookie to make his NHL debut with Detroit this season.
Marchenko, 21, has two goals and 14 assists in 33 games with the Griffins this season. He’s also a plus-15.
It’s his first year playing in North America.
Health has been an issue for Marchenko, who has also played four seasons in the Kontinental Hockey League.
