DETROIT — Running into a hot goalie in the postseason is nothing new for the Wings.
“I think (Jean-Sebastien) Giguere comes to mind, he played real well, he’s the guy that really sticks out who’s played well against us in the past,” Nicklas Lidstrom said. “I think there’s some second chances that could be had, whether rebounds or pucks laying around. Create traffic, that’s how you got to get goals. If you look at the playoffs, that’s how a lot of goals are scored.”
Nashville’s Pekka Rinne has given up just eight goals in 138 shots in this series.
“It’s hard to say,” Lidstrom said when asked to compare the performances. “He’s playing real well. You got to give him credit. But they’re playing real well on front of him, too. Their defensemen and forwards are collapsing down, just making it hard in the slot to get chances.”
