Datsyuk being Datsyuk

DETROIT — Pavel Datsyuk leads the Wings in faceoffs taken his postseason with 139, despite not taking any in Game 5 and just three in Game 4.

The speculation is he has a bad wrist. The Wings are playing it off like Datsyuk has suddenly gotten bad at taking draws, despite winning 55-percent of them to lead the Wings in the playoffs.

When asked if he had a wrist injury Datsyuk said, “No, I’m OK. I’m not good at faceoffs.

“At playoff time, nobody (has) injuries,” Datsyuk added. “Everybody still plays.”

Zetterberg toed the company line.

“I didn’t even he know he didn’t want to take faceoffs,” Zetterberg said. “I don’t think it had anything to do with any injury, to be honest. If you go back, whenever we’ve played on the same line, I took the faceoffs.”

When asked if he was looking forward to getting back on the plane Wednesday and flying to San Jose for Game 7 Datsyuk said, “Of course. I’m happy. Have good seats there.”
