Snow showers get no response

DETROIT — Wings goalie Jimmy Howard has received his fair share of snow showers in the first two games with the Sharks, who have yet to be penalized for any of them.

“We mentioned it several teams to (the refs),” Nicklas Lidstrom said. “I don’t know why they keep allowing them to do it. We keep telling the refs. It’s up to the refs.

They could stop them right away if they wanted by calling it,” Lidstrom added. “It’s pretty obvious they’re trying to do it. It’s really easy for the refs to do something about it.”

Howard knows why San Jose is doing it.

“They’re trying to get under my skin,” Howard said. “I know that. I won’t let them.”

Lidstrom brushed off answering whether the Wings need to repay the favor to Sharks goalie Antti Niemi.

“I think we have to create more traffic first of all,” Lidstrom said. “I think we just have to be there. I think he’s seeing maybe too many shots. We have to make it harder on him.”
