Wings recall Riley Sheahan from Grand Rapids

DETROIT – Wings coach Mike Babcock mentioned last week that he wanted to have a look at forward Riley Sheahan.

He may get his chance Sunday.

Sheahan was recalled from Grand Rapids on Saturday.

Sheahan has 16 goals and 19 assists in 67 games with the Griffins this season.

Sheahan, who was drafted by the Wings in the first round (21st overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, played one game last season in Detroit. He finished with three shots and four penalty minutes in 6:03 of ice time.

At midnight Tuesday, NHL rosters could expand as long as those players up don’t exceed a team’s salary cap.
