Wings coach Mike Babcock said Gustav Nyquist will be in the lineup Friday for Game 2 against the Nashville Predators.
He’ll replace Darren Helm in the lineup. Helm suffered a severed tendon on his right arm in Game 1 and will miss the rest of the playoffs.
“I’m going to put Gus in,” Babcock said. “We’re not filling (Helm’s role). It’s like all important players you miss you don’t fill their role, you get someone else to do what they do.”
Justin Abdelkader will center the third line, while Cory Emmerton will center the fourth line.
“We’d like our bottom six to play more so ideally the game will be that way tomorrow that we can do that,” Babcock said. “Emmerton’s going to play in one hole and Abdelkader’s going to play in the other hole. I thought Abdelkader played well last night.”
