DETROIT — Jimmy Howard will miss Tuesday’s game in Columbus due to his wife, Rachel, delivering their first child, a boy.
The Wings recalled Joey MacDonald from Grand Rapids because to backup Ty Conklin, who will start Tuesday’s game against the Blue Jackets.
After recording a shutout in his first game, Conklin gave up seven goals on 25 shots in a 7-1 loss at Washington on Saturday.
With the Griffins this year, MacDonald is 3-2-0, with a 1.98 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage. He also has one shutout.
