DETROIT — As promised, Babcock juggled a couple of his forward lines in practice.
Mike Modano skated with Pavel Datsyuk and Tomas Holmstrom, while Henrik Zetterberg was paired with Jiri Hudler and Valtteri Filppula.
The line of Danny Cleary, Toddy Bertuzzi and Justin Abdelkader remained the same, while four skaters – Kris Draper, Drew Miller, Darren Helm and Patrick Eaves – rotated on the fourth line.
It doesn’t look as if Wings goalie Chris Osgood will be back on the bench anytime soon.
“Not for me at this point, just because he hasn’t played in any games,” Babcock said. “I don’t know what we can do about that. There’s no schedule to get him in. We’ll continue to talk with Jimmy (Devellano) and Kenny and make those decisions as we go along.”
